Finances

For every £1 we spend, 62.5p goes directly towards our programmes, policy and advocacy work, supporting women and girls to transform their lives.

Where your money goes

We provide flexible funding and project-specific grants to women’s rights organisations across our six focus countries. Our feminist principles of partnership underscore our partnership agreements which are based on high levels of accountability and transparency, while giving partner organisations the autonomy and flexibility to be responsive and adaptive in their programming. Through shared responsibility and collaboration, we support partners in their work as well as financial management, reporting, monitoring and evaluation.

Like most organisations, some of our funds are allocated to running costs. So, for every £1 we spend, 19p pays for governance, and 18.5p is reinvested into fundraising.

How we’re funded

A significant proportion of our income comes from generous individuals who are impressed with our work. For every £1 invested in fundraising, we generate a further £4.85. This investment is crucial, as it enables us to respond flexibly and proactively to our partners needes. The rest of our funding comes from:

  • Government grants including UK and other government’s funding programmes
  • Grant-giving trusts and foundations
  • Statutory organisations
  • Community groups
  • Corporate supporters
